Conform Magazine
Inspired by the 1988 cult classic They Live, directed by John Carpenter (the above image is a still of the film), this is my take on beauty magazines and what they are really about – but really it applies to society as a whole. Still as relevant today as it was back then – if not more so!

“Beauty Magazine” is an oxymoron.
These magazines don’t connect us to our beauty.
Quite the opposite, in fact; they separate us from it.
Beauty is not what you see in a magazine.
Beauty is accepting yourself, no matter what.
Beauty is celebrating life.
Beauty is empowering yourself – and others.
Beauty is kindness. Beauty is connection.
Beauty is our very nature. It’s not WHAT you see in a mirror; it’s how you FEEL about that reflection that truly matters.
Reminder: if it makes you feel inadequate, insincere or inauthentic: Don’t read it. Don’t eat it. Don’t do it. Don’t wear it. Don’t buy it. Don’t own it. Don’t be it.
You KNOW enough.
You DO enough.
You ARE enough.
Stand in your truth. Do YOUR thing, YOUR way.
